Westmoreland County posts 76 new coronavirus cases, 3 deaths
The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Saturday reported 76 new cases of coronavirus in Westmoreland County.
Of the new covid-19 cases, 50 are confirmed and 26 are probable.
Saturday’s addition puts the seven-day average at 72 cases; the county reported 82 cases on Friday. The high of the week was on Wednesday when 90 cases were posted.
Three additional deaths were reported, increasing the death toll to 118. There have been 15 deaths reported since Sunday with a high of four deaths reported Tuesday.
Twenty deaths were reported last week.
The county’s total cases are now at 4,975.
The recent positives come from a batch of 311 tests, yielding a positivity rate of 16.8%.
The county has averaged about 362 tests per day this week.
No day this month has reported triple-digit case counts.
In October, there were four days of triple-digit cases, including a high of 148 cases posted Oct. 15.
