Westmoreland County has new covid-19 death for 2nd day in a row

Westmoreland County has a new coronavirus-related death, the second in two days, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

The county also has 12 new covid-19 cases Tuesday

The new figures bring the death total to 52 and cases total to 2,096.

In the county, there are currently four covid-19 patients hospitalized. None are on a ventilator.

Prior to the last two days, the last time there were at least one new death reported on two consecutive days was about two months ago, on July 28 and July 29.

There have been 10 or more new coronavirus cases reported each day for the past seven days. Prior to this current streak, Westmoreland County saw 10 or more new cases reported each from July 1 to Aug. 3, a 34-day streak.
