Westmoreland County added 16 new coronavirus cases on Sunday, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

The county’s total grew to 1,438 positive covid-19 cases, which includes 1,400 confirmed cases and 38 probable cases.

There were no new deaths added to the county’s toll, so deaths attributed to coronavirus remain at 46.

The county’s seven-day average of cases dropped to 19.

August has seen a drop in cases after there were 763 cases reported in July, about 53% of its total since March, when the pandemic began.
