Westmoreland A.B.A.T.E. to host 2nd annual Humble Rumble

Westmoreland A.B.A.T.E is sponsoring its second annual Humble Rumble on June 10 with vendors, food trucks and other attractions at Latrobe Memorial Stadium.

Proceeds will benefit to Angel Arms, a nonprofit that assists children and infants born with substance addiction.

“The general consensus among us is that there is no more innocent of a victim than those babies,” said Mark Barr, A.B.A.T.E. county chapter president.

Wendy Blystone, Westmoreland A.B.A.T.E. membership officer, said that many members of the association often volunteer for Angel Arms as snugglers.

Snugglers are adults, with required background clearances and training, who assist in the part-time supervising or even rocking children from infants to age 5 who are assisted by the program.

During the event, a car cruise and benefit motorcycle ride will take place to raise money for the charity. From 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., almost 40 vendors will be positioned throughout the stadium.

“Our goal is to raise as much money as we can,” Barr said. “Last year we raised $3,000 and we want to raise even more this year.”

A.B.A.T.E., the Alliance of Bikers Aimed Toward Education advocate for riders’ rights, donate to local charities and educate people about motorcycles. The Westmoreland chapter is one of 45 across the state. The entire organization boasts about 6,000 members.
