Wendover Middle School seventh graders participated in a day of service at the school Tuesday, including participation in a Chemo Comfort Care Totes Project.

The project started in 2017. Each year students assemble tote bags filled with comforting items for community members beginning chemotherapy treatments.

The totes hold blankets, socks, hats, puzzle books and more.

Students were able to add handmade recipe cards, notes of encouragement and custom wooden tags in order to personalize the tote bags.

Since 2017 more than 2,000 totes have been distributed.

The students also potted flowers for distributing at nursing homes as part of the day of service.
