Chefs with local ties who will be competing in the upcoming International Culinary Exhibition will preview their competition table display during a Jan. 18 Olympic Culinary Preview Party at the Westmoreland County Community College Youngwood campus.

The event, set for 5-8 p.m. in the Student Achievement Center, also will feature interactive food stations provided by Westmoreland’s School of Culinary Arts/Hospitality and the Western Pennsylvania Culinary Arts and Baking/Pastry Programs.

Guests will meet current ACF Regional Culinary Team USA members, including Westmoreland alumnus Joe Peroney, and previous team members Richard Rosendale, Keith Coughenour and Shawn Culp, all of whom also are Westmoreland alumni.

The competition, commonly known as the Culinary Olympics, is scheduled for Feb. 14-19 in Stuttgart, Germany.

“This event gives us a wonderful opportunity to showcase the current ACF Regional Culinary Team USA as well as our outstanding alumni who have represented Culinary Team USA in past years,” says Cindy Komarinski, professor for the School of Culinary Arts/Hospitality.

A ticket for the preview party is $75. A VIP reception will be held prior to the event from 4-5 p.m; ticket for the reception and party is $100.
