The Easter Bunny will feel right at home as he hops down the streets of Greensburg.
A group of city businesses is spreading the joy of spring with a window decorating contest and two chances for shoppers to win gift baskets.
“We wanted there to be something positive for people to experience after all we’ve been through in the past year,” said event organizer Laura Knopf, owner of the downtown Serenity Bead Shop and Studio. The event is sponsored by Shop Greensburg.
Windows are sporting spring and Easter themes, whatever took the owner’s fancy, she said.
Visitors can submit votes for two favorite windows at any participating business to be entered into a drawing for a gift basket valued at more than $100. The winning window will be marked with a decal.
Participating businesses include:
• Artisans of Hands & Heart, 18 W. Second St.
• Beeghly & Co. Jewelers, 401 S. Main St.
• Cattfeinated Cat Cafe, 159 E. Otterman St.
• Crossroads Boutique, 24 W. Second St.
• Descendants, 14 W. Second St.
• Lapels, A Fine Men’s Clothier, 106 S. Pennsylvania Ave.
• Le Jardin Florist, 212 W. Third St.
• Mancuso’s Shoe Repair, 102 S. Pennsylvania Ave.
• McFeely’s Gourmet Chocolate, 100 S. Pennsylvania Ave.
• The Palace Theatre, 21 W. Otterman St.
• Penelope’s, 101 S. Pennsylvania Ave.
• Personalized Colors, 229 S. Main St.
• Serenity Bead Shop and Studio, 245 S. Main St.

Artisans of Hands & Heart, Beeghly & Co., the cat cafe, Mancuso’s, McFeely’s, Penelope’s, the bead shop and the antiques shop also are participating in a separate glitter egg hunt.
Customers can find a glitter egg and have a special card stamped or signed at those stores. When the card is completed, it can be left at the last place visited to be entered into the second gift basket drawing. That basket also is valued at more than $100.
Voting for windows and registration for the basket drawings run through April 3.
“Generally, the motivation is to bring people out to downtown Greensburg, but we also want to cheer people up,” Knopf said. “Finally, the sun is out.”
