StoryZ Theatre will launch its new season with a staged reading of “The Happiest Man On Earth” by Mark St. Germain, inspired by the best-selling memoir of Holocaust survivor Eddie Jaku.

Jaku recounts his journey as a young Jewish boy in Nazi Germany, his survival at the Auschwitz death camp and his choice to live life with love, hope and joy.

Actor David Seremet will portray Jaku, with Rachel Nicely and John Paul Richey providing the voices of people Jaku meets along his journey.

The play will take place at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 12 and 13, with a 2 p.m. matinee Sept. 14 at St. Stephen’s AME Church, 19 Oak Street in Latrobe.

Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for students and seniors. Tickets are available at the door and at Eventbrite.com — visit storyzstudios.org for the ticket link. Seating is limited.
