“It’s really the cantilever (second floor exhibition gallery) that started as (our) inspiration. It’s such a wonderful canvas,” says Anne Kraybill, the museum’s Richard M. Scaife Director/CEO.
Plans include a changing light show, along with traditionally wrapped and decorated holiday trees.
“We hope to do a countdown at 6:30 p.m. and flip (the lights) on,” Kraybill says.
The lights will be on a timer and continue to add “sparkle” to the winter season after dusk through February, she says.
During the event, guests also will enjoy a specialty hot chocolate and can get cozy at a s’mores bar fire pit.
“If the weather holds, we will do that outdoors on the terrace, kind of like a winter lounge,” Kraybill says.
A winter-themed art scavenger hunt in the galleries will complete the evening.
Tickets are $15 and include one drink.
