South Greensburg Police believe a Chevrolet Cruze similar in appearance to this factory model, but with driver’s side damage, struck and critically injured a pedestrian April 19, 2019, on Broad Street.

South Greensburg police are looking for the car that struck and critically injured a pedestrian Friday night in the 1500 block of Broad Street.

The crash happened at about 7:30 p.m. near DeGennaro’s Restaurant, where staff indicated the man, whom police didn’t identify, had dined before he was struck. Police said Monday the man was in critical condition in the intensive care unit of an area trauma center.

Firefighters said he was taken by ambulance to Forbes Hospital in Monroeville.

Police said the car fled south on Route 819, toward Armbrust. Investigators believe it is a dark gray newer model Chevrolet Cruze sedan with chrome accent on the doors below the driver and passenger windows.

The car may be displaying a white “temporary tag” in the rear window and would have damage to the driver’s side — including the side mirror and possibly the front bumper, hood and fender, police said.

Anyone with information about the vehicle is asked to contact the South Greensburg Police at 724-834-2915.
