Sheetz Inc. plans to demolish its two convenience stores along Route 30 in North Huntingdon to update them.

The Altoona-based convenience store chain plans to demolish stores at the intersection of Route 30 and North Thompson Lane and one at the intersection of Route 30 and Carpenter Lane.

Sheetz will still operate its store at 101 Ronda Court, North Huntingdon, above the eastbound lanes of Route 30.

Sheetz anticipates to begin construction on its store along North Thompson Lane this fall, with a projected opening in the winter of 2026, said company spokesman Nick Ruffner.

The new store building with a drive-through window will be about 6,140 square feet with the capability to fuel 12 vehicles at one time, Ruffner said.

The set of pumps along North Thompson Lane will be eliminated in the new configuration, as depicted in the plans presented to the township.

The store will have indoor and outdoor seating, Ruffner said.

North Huntingdon officials in June approved site plans for the reconfigured store at the intersection of Carpenter Lane and Route 30.

The new store at is expected to be open in late spring or early summer next year, Ruffner said.

The store will be about 6,140 square feet in size with the capability to fuel 10 vehicles at a time, Ruffner said.

Robert Humme, the owner of three parcels totaling 1.8 acres at the Carpenter Lane site, is the applicant for the site plan, along with Altoona-based Sheetz.
