A 19-year-old man was killed Sunday in a crash at a motocross track in Mt. Pleasant Township, according to the Westmoreland County coroner.

Kenneth W. Miller Jr., of Salem Township, wrecked his off-road Suzuki just before 1:30 p.m. at a facility along Sewickley Creek Road, Coroner Kenneth Bacha said.

The crash occurred when Miller failed to clear a table top jump. Medics transported him to Excela Frick Emergency Department where he was pronounced dead.

Miller was wearing a helmet and other protective gear, according to the coroner’s report.

Creekside Motocross in West Newton posted a tribute to Miller on its Facebook page just about 6 p.m.

“It is in heavy hearts to find out today, one of our riders has passed away,” the post reads. “Ride in peace.”

Newhouse Funeral Home of New Alexandria is handling Miller’s arrangements.

State police in Greensburg are investigating.
