Sage’s Army founder and president Carmen Carpozzi. Sage’s Army last year received a $486,000 state grant to grow their support and care outreach.

Sage’s Army, a nonprofit fighting drug addiction, will hold a free family reinforcement/recovery session on Feb. 27. The event will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the group’s headquarters, 216 Fourth St., Irwin.

The sessions are designed to provide information and guidance for family members who deal with addiction in their families along with offering ongoing support. The session will be led by Carmen Capozzi, father of the late Sage Capozzi, who died of a drug overdose in March 2012.

A women’s coffee group for women with family members struggling with addiction will meet the first Friday of each month, from 4 to 6 p.m. Refreshments will be provided, as well as craft therapy.

Grief without Stigma, a program to help people fight the stigma of addiction, will be held the second and fourth Thursday of each month, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The program is designed to help families work through the anger and grief they are feeling.
