Murrysville police say travelers on Route 22 should expect minor traffic delays between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday during Vice President Mike Pence’s visit to Cornerstone Ministries.

The vice president is scheduled to land in Air Force Two at 10:30 a.m. at the 171st Air Refueling Wing in Moon and travel by motorcade to Cornerstone for a Fireside Chat during a roundtable sponsored by the Susan B. Anthony List, a pro-life organization he has partnered with several times this summer.

Following a speech there, Pence is scheduled to travel to Freedom, Beaver County, for a “Workers for Trump” rally.

State police in Pittsburgh had no advisories available for highways in and around the airport.

Pence made an appearance at a similar rally last week in northeastern Pennsylvania.

“We’re not too far from our opponents’ boyhood home, but it’s Trump country now,” Pence said in Exeter, a short drive from Scranton —the boyhood hometown of Joe Biden, the former vice president and Democratic presidential candidate.

Pence came to Greensburg in late July.

Both the Trump and Biden campaigns are scheduling frequent appearances in Pennsylvania, which is set to be a pivotal swing state in the Nov. 2 presidential election.

President Trump and Biden are planning to visit the Flight 93 National Memorial on Friday to mark the 19th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in Somerset County, New York City and Washington D.C.

Trump visited the site near Shanksville for the 9/11 service in 2018, followed by Pence last year. Biden attended the dedication of the Flight 93 National Memorial on Sept. 10, 2011, and spoke at the 9/11 memorial service in 2012.
