Walmart in Belle Vernon sold a winning Lottery ticket worth over $1 million.

A customer at the Walmart in Rostraver went home with more than just a turkey this Thanksgiving after purchasing a lottery ticket worth over $1 million.

The Pennsylvania Lottery reported the win after the person, who was not immediately identified, purchased a Diamond Mine ticket, a $20 game that offers top prizes starting at $200,000. To win, numbers on the ticket must match designated winning numbers at the top of the ticket.

Players have the chance to win six prizes, starting at $100 and climbing up to $10,000. Winnings like the Rostraver one, which totaled $1,035,268, are considered progressive top prizes. According to the Pennsylvania Lottery, there are 15 chances left to win a progressive prize, which is reset after each win. As of Monday, the top prize is about $216,860.

There is a one-in-three chance to win any prize on a Diamond Mine ticket, which is considered a Fast Play game, similar to a Scratch-Off ticket but without the need to wait for a drawing.

The Walmart store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Another lucky winner in Allegheny County went home with $800,000 over the weekend after purchasing a jackpot-winning ticket at a GetGo in Carnegie. The GetGo will receive a $5,000 bonus.

According to the lottery, prizes must be claimed and tickets validated before winners are identified. Winners of a Fast Play game should sign the back of the ticket, call the lottery at 1-800-692-7481 and file a claim at the lottery office. Fast Play winners must claim their prizes within a year of the ticket’s purchase date.
