Readying for renovation in Greensburg
An excavator for Vince Construction Co. of Greensburg removes the debris gutted from a five-story building at South Pennsylvania Avenue and West Second Street in Greensburg, that Westmoreland County Treasurer Jared Squires purchased last year.
Squires has said the renovated building will have a dance studio on the first floor, two office suites on the second floor and apartments on the upper three floors.
A large roll-away dumpster was being filled Friday with debris from the gutting of the building. Contractors cut holes in the upper floors and dropped the debris down to the first floor, rather than having to haul down to the ground floor.
One construction worker at the site said they have been working on the building for about three weeks.
