A 20-year-old Herminie man was stalking his ex-girlfriend, broke into her Hempfield home and took several of her possessions — including her cat, state police allege.
Shane Matthew Morrison Jr. is charged with burglary, theft, receiving stolen property and harassment. His bond was set at $50,000, unsecured.
According to information state police released Friday, the incident happened between 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Jan. 4.
State police said Morrison hid in the woods near the 20-year-old woman’s home and told her by a text message that he had watched her leave.
While she was away, Morrison allegedly entered her home through a window. While inside, in addition to her cat, he took her clothing, shoes, car key and a child’s important documents.
Morrison then allegedly went home and texted pictures of what he had taken.
He allegedly asked her to respond to his messages “or she would never see her possessions again.”
Police did not say if the woman’s possessions, including the cat, were returned after Morrison was arrested. Police could not immediately be reached for comment.
