Planet Fitness in Rostraver is set to open its doors and to celebrate they’re making a donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Laurel Region.

During the April 11 ribbon-cutting ceremony, a $5,000 check will be presented to the non-profit organization aimed at providing services to kids through mentorship programs.

“We focus on creating a space where everyone in the community feels accepted and respected,” Gary Williams, regional director of United PF Partners, said in a news release. “We are happy to partner and take part in promoting the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Laurel Region, whose values truly align with our initiatives here at Planet Fitness.”

United PF Partners operates Planet Fitness centers in the region.

The gym featuring small group fitness classes, free weights, cardio machines and more will be located at 760 Rostraver Road. New members that join the 20,000-square-foot gym by April 10 can sign up for a classic membership for 25 cents and $10 per month.

Black card members will pay $22 per month, and will include additional amenities like massage beds and tanning.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the new facility located near Rostraver Square housing Walmart, Lowe’s Home Improvement and various restaurants.

A Planet Fitness is set to open in East Huntingdon. The 10,000-square-foot facility does not yet have an opening date, but will be located at 123 Crossroads Plaza Road.
