PennDOT this month will unveil its plan for reconstructing a large section of Route 906 paralleling the Monongahela River in Monessen.

A display of plans for the project is set for 4:30 to 6 p.m. Oct. 15 in the Monessen City Hall, 557 Donner Ave. The meeting will begin with a formal presentation. PennDOT officials and consultants will provide an overview of the project and will accept public input.

The project will stretch from Irons Street, in Rostraver Township, north to the intersection of Route 906 and Donner Avenue, in Monessen.

It will involve full-depth reconstruction of the four-lane concrete section of the highway, using asphalt, as well as milling and resurfacing of an existing two-lane asphalt section.

Also, a traffic signal will be replaced at the Charleroi-Monessen Bridge.
