A PennDOT bridge project is scheduled to close a section of Route 711 south of New Florence beginning Monday.

The closure will be in place through early July between Creek Road in Fairfield, near Mirror Lake Campground, and Clark Hollow Road in St. Clair .

A series of posted detours will be in place while crews from C.H. & D. Enterprises replace a bridge over a tributary of Tubmill Creek with a precast concrete box culvert. The project is budgeted at $2.5 million.

Passenger vehicles headed north on Route 711 will be directed to turn right onto Thatcher Road, left onto Ross Mountain Park Road and then right onto Route 711.

Cars headed south on Route 711 from Seward will turn right onto Ligonier Street in New Florence and then will follow Power Plant and Mulligan Hill roads. Turning left onto Route 259, they will pass through Robinson and Bolivar before turning left onto Creek Road, to reach Route 711 once more.

Trucks headed north on Route 711, from Ligonier, will veer right onto Route 271 and will head to Johnstown. There, they will turn left onto Route 403 (Napoleon Street) and then will follow Route 56 westbound through the city, continuing to Seward. Southbound trucks will follow that route in reverse.
