A chef, school nurse, Pittsburgh area sportscaster, physician, historian, veteran, volunteer with several community organizations and former high school principal are among a dozen Penn-Trafford graduates to be inducted into the school’s inaugural hall of fame class.

The Penn-Trafford High School Alumni Hall of Fame recognizes alumni and school associates who have brought honor, distinction and pride to the school district through their achievements, accomplishments and contributions to society, according to the alumni committee that selected the first class. The names are being withheld until the luncheon, said Virginia Stump, a member of the Penn-Trafford alumni committee.

The alumni hall of fame committee said it hopes those inducted “will be an inspiration” to students at the school.

Inductees will be honored with a luncheon at noon March 21 at the Manor Valley Country Club, 2095 Denmark Manor Road, Penn Township. The lunch buffet and awards presentation is set for 1 p.m.

A committee of about 10 people formed in 2018 after former high school principal Rey Peduzzi at a class reunion suggested a Penn-Trafford hall of fame, similar to one in Norwin, said Stump, a North Huntingdon commissioner.

The committee received more than a dozen nominees for the first class and will keep names on file to be considered for future classes for what will be an annual event, Stump said.

Those inducted will be recognized at the high school with a plaque with their names, Stump said.
