Penn Township needs a few residents who are willing to serve on local boards.

The township is looking for alternate members for its planning commission and the Penn Area Library board of trustees, with two vacancies on each board.

The planning commission meets on the first Tuesday of every month to review and make recommendations on construction projects and other local developments.

Board members, including alternates, serve four-year terms, and are paid $55 a meeting.

The library trustees meet six times a year on the second Tuesday of every other month.

Trustees serve three-year terms and are unpaid.

Anyone interested is asked to send a letter of interest including why they want to serve and their qualifications to do so to township Manager Alex Graziani at alexgraziani@penntwp.org by Feb. 12.

Township commissioners may conduct interviews in February.
