Talk about work these days, and you’re likely to hear discouraging words like “quiet quitting” and “bare minimum Monday.”

“It’s a tough world out there, especially post-covid,” said Westmoreland Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Dan DeBone.

He and co-workers offered a warm welcome to upward of 230 attendees from area businesses and organizations at the Chamber’s annual Staff Appreciation Luncheon on April 26 at Greensburg Country Club in Hempfield.

“We want to show that we appreciate our administrators and bosses and, most importantly, those employees who do all the work — and get them out of the office for a nice lunch,” DeBone said.

In addition to lunch, attendees dropped tickets into baskets, vying for prizes including cash, spa services, auto detailing, a golf foursome, restaurant gift cards, a pizza oven and cooler and VIP tickets to the upcoming Westmoreland County air show.

Beeghly and Co. Jewelers also offered a diamond trivia quiz, with a prize of a diamond necklace valued at $730.

Serving on the event committee were Ronel Baccus, Jeanie Bock, Michelle DiClaudio, Tracy Dripps, Amy Miller, Michelle VanHorn and Toni Wilson.

Chamber staffers include Lisa Kennedy, Joanne Pearson, Lindsay Neary and Patrice Palmiere.
