Everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day, so the saying goes.

A green-clad crowd filled The Westmoreland Museum of American Art on March 17 for an evening of “Shamrocks & Shenanigans” at the monthly Art on Tap 2.0 happy hour.

Museum staffers Darrah Resnick and Sarah Rowe greeted them with a “Céad míle fáilte” (a hundred thousand welcomes), while Doug Evans applied temporary shamrock tattoos and handed out themed party favors.

The lads and lassies downed a dram of Irish whiskey, a green beer or an Irish coffee and gathered in the community room for appetizers and entertainment by musician Martin Thomas.

For the adventurous and the competitive, there were a pair of quests.

Leprechauns hid 50 gold and green coins throughout the galleries for a Pot of Gold Hunt. The guest amassing the biggest stash was eligible for a prize.

The regular Art Scavenger Hunt also took on the verdant vibe of the Emerald Isle, with participants seeking out green scenes in the artworks throughout the galleries.

Kitty Hricenak and Linda Blum offered guests feeling the luck o’ the Irish tickets for a gift basket raffle.

A shimmering green-and-gold backdrop was available for photo opportunities.

And “the craic” (a good time) was had by all.

Seen at the hooley: Roxie Fontenasi and Larry Luttner, Carla Rusnica, Diane Dale, Keri Harkleroad and Graig Snyder, Barbara Ferrier, Bruce Shirey and Cathy Miller, Bruce and Kim Palmiscno, Jamie Willcox, Bates and Nicole Szakos, Jessica Black Leigey and Dan Leigey, Hannah McCarthy, Kate Leigey, John and Malinda Sherid, Dr. Cathleen Adams and Joshua Adams, Jeff and Rose Hydeman, Ally and Erik Stynchula and Kirk and Kelly Perry.
