Offer a group of people a dozen things to eat and everyone will have a different favorite.

So it was at the annual Taste of the Neighborhood: Pizza, Brews & More, on April 14 at Latrobe Art Center.

The overflow crowd spilled out of the center onto Ligonier Street with plates full of hearty bites from local food and beverage purveyors.

Patrick Sedlacko of Unity, attending with his wife Angela, was pleasantly surprised by a dish from Jaffre’s Stone Bar & Kitchen.

“I’m not a fan of polenta, but this is really good,” he said.

Karen Rosa of Latrobe praised the ziti and meatballs from Ricolita’s Cafe.

“She’s the best in town,” Rosa declared.

Lynn Adamerovich of Unity voted for the chicken Romano from the Touchdown Club. She shared a table with her husband, Mike, and Mike Murray.

John and Vickie Kuhns of Latrobe found a spot in the impromptu bar set up in the center’s classroom.

“The more we drink, the more he talks,” said John Kuhns, pointing at a larger-than-lifesize cutout of the “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” feline, Daniel Tiger.

Also on the menu were pizza from Jioio’s Pizza, potato pancakes and Italian beef sliders from Chef Dato’s Table, chicken meatballs and dessert protein balls from RKM Kitchen, wings and pot roast dip with chips from Sharky’s Cafe and pizza from Lucky B’s.

Offering their signature quaffs were Four Seasons, Helltown, All Saints, El Diablo and Quinn breweries. Also on hand were Rusty Musket Distilling Co. and Raspberry Acres Wine by Eclectique.

Jerry B and the Bone Tones served up a heapin’ helping of soul, R&B and blues-tinged rock.

Center staffers Michael Tusay, Joe Bellack and Janet Mason greeted the gastronomes, including Rosanne Bodziak, Cameron and Emily Roth, Jason and Hannah Brinker, Jody Smith, Linda McKenna Boxx, Bill and Peg Panasiti, Don Briggs, Sam and Jonelle Dini, David and Janet Seremet, Jerry Schulteis, Janet Riordan, Roxie Fontanesi, Larry Luttner, Ozzie and Diane Austraw, Sam and Lisa Johnston, Dennis Dablock, Dewey and Toni Ann Stein, Nancy Svetahor, Karen Gross and Len Stein.
