Police: Latrobe man killed in motorcycle crash

A 51-year-old Latrobe man was killed Thursday afternoon after a motorcycle crash, police said.

Kevin Seremet was taken to Excela Latrobe Hospital where he was pronounced dead after officials responded to the intersection of Depot and Alexandria streets for a crash between a motorcycle and a car.

According to Westmoreland County Coroner Kenneth Bacha, Sermet, who was driving the 2011 Suzuki motorcycle collided with the 2018 Chevrolet Malibu. Bacha confirmed Sermet was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Officials said the driver of the vehicle was not injured.

The intersectionwas closed shortly after 2 p.m. while a state police accident reconstruction team, the Latrobe Police and the Latrobe Volunteer Fire Department responded.

Anyone who saw the crash is asked to call city police at 724-537-5526. Officials are investigating the cause of the crash.
