A Pittsburgh man became so angry at a woman who ordered him the wrong beer that he followed her outside a Murrysville restaurant and chased her across Route 22, where he is accused of kicking and punching her, according to court documents.

Kadeem O. Warren, 28, of the North Side, was arraigned Saturday on charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct, harassment, tampering with evidence and possession of a controlled substance. He was taken to the Westmoreland County Prison after failing to post $25,000 bail.

Officer Samantha Malik said police were dispatched to an area along Route 22 near Applebee’s just before midnight Friday after receiving reports of a man “dragging and punching a female across the highway.”

When police arrived, Malik said in court documents, they found the woman being assisted at the scene by witnesses. One witness told police she found the woman “laying in the bushes in the vicinity of Walnut Hollow Plaza” across Route 22 from Applebee’s, where the argument reportedly began at 11:57 p.m.

“(The woman) said she ordered the wrong beer, which made Warren mad … and she walked outside,” Malik wrote.

Malik said the woman told police that Warren followed her outside, where the argument became physical and she accused Warren of physically assaulting her as she attempted to run across the highway.

Malik said the woman’s report was corroborated by witness accounts.

The woman was taken to UPMC East Hospital in Monroeville by Murrysville Medic One for treatment of arm, head and ankle injuries.

Warren was arrested at the scene. As he was being questioned at the police station, Malik said officers noticed he was attempting to conceal a glass vial in his mouth. Police reported it contained liquid THC — the chemical compound in marijuana.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled July 2 before District Judge Charles Conway.
