Mt. Pleasant Township man accused of sexually assaulting 10-year-old
State police have an arrest warrant for a 76-year-old Mt. Pleasant man on charges of sexually assaulting a girl on multiple occasions nearly five years ago.
Donald C. Werry of Brush Creek Road was charged by state Trooper Robert Politowski with aggravated involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, aggravated indecent assault, endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors and indecent assault.
Hempfield District Judge Mark Mansour signed the arrest warrant Friday.
Court documents allege the victim, who now is a teenager, initially made the complaint in a report to ChildLine, the state’s child abuse telephone hotline. She recently was interviewed at A Child’s Place, a children’s advocacy organization in North Huntingdon.
The victim told investigators she was assaulted by Werry between February and December 2015, when he occasionally watched the then 10-year-old girl.
Politowski said Werry recently admitted to troopers in an interview that he sexually assaulted the victim “on more than one occasion.”
A preliminary hearing will be scheduled when Werry is arraigned.
