Pittsburgh music producer is remembered after fatal shooting

A Pittsburgh-area music producer was remembered after he was shot and killed in Wilkinsburg over the weekend.

According to Tribune-Review news partner WPXI, family and friends gathered Monday in memory of Mike “Tomlinese” Tomlin, 33.

“[He was a] singer, rapper, producer, engineer. He was one of my DJs at one time. He was just an amazing spirit,” his friend, Jamal Campbell, told WPXI.

Those who knew Tomlin said he was also an artist who sang, wrote, and even created jingles.

According to county police, just before midnight Saturday, emergency crews were called to the 1300 block of Franklin Avenue in Wilkinsburg. When they arrived, they found one man had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The medical examiner’s office has yet to release their report on the exact cause of death, but county police are asking anyone with information to contact them.


Gibsonia woman dies in crash

Pennsylvania State Police said a 75-year-old Gibsonia woman was found dead in the wreckage after a crash Monday in Concord Township, Butler County.

According to a public information report released by state police, the crash happened just after 10:30 a.m. along Oneida Valley Road. Police said the car was found in irreparable damage after supposedly hitting a ditch and then going airborne.

Police said the driver, Kathie Stewart, was pronounced dead at the scene.


Pa. state trooper uninjured in Greensburg crash

Two vehicles had to be towed away Monday after a Pennsylvania state trooper was involved in a crash on East Pittsburgh Street in Greensburg.

According to a public information report released by state police, the crash occurred just before 2 p.m. Monday. A four-door sedan, driven by William Carter, 24, of Greensburg, hit a Pennsylvania State Police vehicle driven by officer Daniel Grabrowski, 33, of Greensburg after the sedan driver made an illegal left turn out of a parking lot, according to the report.

Police said a recording of the crash was captured on the Mobile Video Recorder of the police vehicle and taken in as evidence.
