Officials search for game lands trash maker
The Pennsylvania Game Commission is trying to figure out who dumped garbage in Westmoreland County game lands earlier this week.
Operation Game Thief reported that drywall and building materials were dumped Tuesday evening in St. Clair. Witnesses reported seeing a Ford pickup driving through New Florence hauling several trash cans. Authorities released surveillance photos of the vehicle as well as pictures of the trash which appeared to be dumped along a road.
Anyone with information is asked to call the game commission’s Southwest Region at 1-833-PGC-HUNT or the Operation Game Thief Hotline at 1-888-PGC-8001. Tips can be made online here.
Man shot in the back in Lawrenceville
A man was shot twice in the back late Thursday, according to Pittsburgh police.
He arrived at Allegheny General Hospital by private car around 11:45 p.m. and was in critical but stable condition. Police believe the shooting may have happened on Butler Street near the border of Stanton Heights and Upper Lawrenceville.
Detectives were looking at video surveillance in the area. No arrests were announced.
Dense fog advisory in effect in Western Pa.
A dense fog advisory was in effect for parts of the region, including Allegheny and Westmoreland counties, Friday morning until 10 a.m.
The National Weather Service in Moon also included Beaver, Armstrong, Washington and Indiana counties in the advisory, which was expanded a couple times during the morning. Dense fog can result in reduced visibility, a quarter mile or less in some spots, according to the weather service.
The Dense Fog Advisory has been expanded to include Allegheny and Westmoreland counties in SW PA. It is in effect until 10 AM EDT. Take it easy on your morning commute. Use low beam headlights and leave extra space between you and the vehicle in front of you. pic.twitter.com/OqEZN63R7J
