Greensburg workshop to discuss medical marijuana in the workplace

How employers can deal with medical marijuana in the workplace is the subject of an upcoming seminar in Greensburg.

How employers should deal with medical marijuana in the workplace will be explored during a workshop from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Nov. 7 at the Westmoreland Museum of American Art, 221 N. Main St., Greensburg.

VonZell Wade, clinical director of SpiritLife, an inpatient treatment center in Indiana County; Katherine Koop Irwin, a labor law attorney in the Pittsburgh firm of Tucker Arensberg, P.C.; and Annette Gold-Marney, president of New Kensington-based You’re Hired, will be the speakers at the free workshop. It is co-sponsored by the Westmoreland County Recovery Friendly Workplace and the Westmoreland County Drug Overdose Task Force.

Pre-registration is required. A light breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Employer networking and free NARCAN Training will be available, with the program and keynote speakers from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The U.S. Dept of Labor’s National Health Emergency Dislocated Worker Demonstration grant, which was awarded to a partnership between the Westmoreland-Fayette Workforce Investment Board and the state Department of Labor and Industry, is providing the money for the workshop.
