Laurelville Retreat Center’s new pool and welcome center will open by June 15, with guests asked to pre-register for daily swim times.

With many pools remaining closed this summer, swimmers will have one more option for water fun.

The new pool at Laurelville Retreat Center in Mt. Pleasant Township will open to the public by June 15 for two daily swim sessions.

The pool will operate with limited crowd capacities and distancing protocols, and pool users will have to preregister for sessions set for noon to3 p.m. or 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The pool will operate seven days a week.

Beginning June 8, pool users can call 724-423-2624 up to a week in advance to choose dates and times for up to 10 guests.

Admission is $5 per person; children 2 and younger are free. Swimmers will not be admitted without a reservation.

Pool traffic flow will be streamlined at the entrance, and the number of those permitted in the changing rooms and the pool will be limited to meet the most recent guidelines from the Center for Disease Control and the state Department of Health.

All facilities will be sanitized before opening and during the break between sessions.

Guests may bring pool noodles or Coast Guard-approved life vests or swim trainers. Arm floaties or large inflatables will not be permitted.

The snack shop will be open.

Additional lifeguards are needed for the summer. Apply by email to brenda@laurelville.org, through Laurelville’s Facebook page or at laurelville.org.
