The entrance to the Latrobe police station, seen on Aug. 13, 2018, is marked prominently at the city municipal building on Jefferson Street.

People can eat spaghetti on May 18 and help raise money to buy new equipment for the Latrobe Police Department.

Proceeds from the dinner will help buy department equipment, including body cameras, portable automated external defibrillators and a breath alcohol tester, said Kane Kreinbrook, the organizer of the dinner.

Food will be served from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Latrobe American Legion Post, 1811 Ligonier St.

The meal costs $8 and consists of pasta and sauce, salad, bread, dessert and soda or water. The price is $5 for children ages 4-10. Younger children eat for free.

Meals can be ordered to eat in or take out. A basket raffle and door prizes also will be featured.

The Quatrini Rafferty law firm has pledged to match the money raised at the event, up to $1,000.

The United Steelworkers Local 1537 at Carpenter Technology Corp.’s Latrobe plant, is hosting the dinner.

For tickets or information, contact Kreinbrook at 724-708-2178.
