A man was taken to an area hospital for treatment after he was pinned underneath a car Tuesday night in Jeannette.
The man, who was not immediately identified, was working on the sport utility vehicle, on a slight grade, when the jack stand tipped over, according to Jeannette Fire Chief Bill Frye.
The car came to rest on the man’s chest, but he was conscious when firefighters arrived before 10 p.m. at the scene in the 200 block of North Third Street.
Frye said firefighters were able to free the man in just a few minutes, using a new stabilizer attachment that can be used with a hydraulic tool.
“The old way was setting up air bags and sliding them under,” Frye said.
The man was transported by Jeannette EMS with non-life-threatening injuries.
Additional details weren’t immediately available.
