Irwin will once more have a manager and an assistant manager to operate the town’s government.

Council voted unanimously on Sept. 3 to hire Stacie Santimyer as the borough’s assistant manager at an annual salary of $35,000, said Shari Martino, borough manager.

Santimyer, aNorth Huntingdon resident, will begin her new job on Sept. 18.

Santimyer will succeed Martino, who was the assistant manager until she was hired in August as the borough manager. Martino replaced Valerie Morton, who resigned in June.

Councilman Frank Rocco Jr. said the borough had a pool of about 100 people who applied for the manager’s job earlier this summer and also were considered for the assistant manager’s position. Those who applied did not have municipal government experience, Rocco said.

Council reduced the pool of candidates to about five, then two finalists, before hiring Santimyer, according to Rocco.
