A 25-year-old Herminie man is accused of assaulting a woman outside a Sewickley Township bar, damaging her car and then sending her threatening messages via social media for several hours after a minor traffic accident.

Anthony J. Weber III was charged with criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, making terroristic threats and simple assault by state police in Greensburg in connection with the Sept. 19 incident outside of Boot Scoot Saloon Bar along Greensburg Pike.

Trooper Martin Mihelic said the woman alleged that, after she was involved in a minor traffic accident with Weber’s 2014 Volkswagen Passat, he assaulted her and caused more than $1,000 damage to her 2018 Chevrolet Cruze before fleeing.

“The victim said Weber pulled her out of her vehicle by her hair and slammed her to the ground, causing her to strike her head,” Mihelic wrote.

Mihelic reported in court documents filed with Rostraver District Judge Charles Christner that Weber fled in his car before troopers arrived, but called the woman using a friend’s phone and threatened her while while Mihelic was talking with her.

Mihelic said in court documents that the woman activated the speaker on her cell phone and he listened to the threats. He said the woman reported that Weber continued messaging her several hours after the incident, using a friend’s phone, and “threatening to smash her head in.”

Later that day, Mihelic interviewed the owner of the phone Weber allegedly used to make the threats. The woman told troopers she was in Weber’s car and witnessed the assault and heard the threats.

Reached by phone Wednesday, Weber admitted he was angry “because she backed into my car and damaged it.”

“She then got out of her car and started hitting me when I asked for her insurance information. I was defending myself,” Weber said.

Weber declined comment about allegedly making threats against the woman for several hours after the accident.

Weber has a separate preliminary hearing scheduled before Christner Oct. 26 on a driving under the influence complaint and several traffic violations filed by state police following a Feb. 15 traffic stop, also in Sewickley Township, according to court dockets.

A preliminary hearing on the latest charges is Nov. 16.
