Hempfield to host first health and wellness fair Feb. 29
Hempfield is hosting its first health and wellness fair.
Located at the township’s athletic complex, the Feb. 29 fair will offer the community the opportunity to meet with organizations and health providers while also learning about youth sports organizations and programs and facilities offered by the parks and recreation department.
“We are always looking for new events and ways to interact with the community,” said Aaron Siko, director of parks and recreation. “A health and wellness fair seems to be a great way to benefit the community by having several wellness related options in one place.”
Those who attend will have the opportunity to meet with various organizations from across the county and learn about their services.
“It’s great for the participants, both for-profit and non-profit, as well,” Siko said. “It allows them to market their services to a large audience and have one-on-one conversations with potential clients or patients.”
Several organizations are already signed up for the event including Saint Vincent Prevention Projects, Penn State Extension, the Hempfield Volunteer Fire Department and others. A full list of attendees can be found on the township’s Facebook page.
Registration will also be available for youth sports organizations.
A kids activity area will feature games and prizes along with activities like Zumba, kids yoga and Tai Chi. Presentations from the Hempfield Fire Department, ATA Martial Arts, Mutual Aid and other will also be available.
The free event runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
