Hempfield area road paving slated to begin
Hempfield crews are gearing up to start a $1.8 million paving program next week.
The work is expected to start Monday, and will include streets in the township and Hempfield Park, as well as roads in neighboring Adamsburg.
It comes months after supervisors approved a contract with Derry Construction. At the time, officials chose between three bidders who offered prices for various project options, the first of which only included township streets. The second included Hempfield and Adamsburg, while the third included both municipalities and the park.
According to a post on the township’s website, milling operations will begin Monday in the Bashforth Acres plan, with crews then moving to the Beech Hills plan.
The first phase includes:
- Bashforth Drive
- Wheatridge Drive
- Mary Lane
- Inglewood Drive
- Hill Point Drive
- Dallas Drive
- Worthy Lane
- Clemens Drive
- Beech Hills Drive
- North Drive
- Evergreen Drive
- Beech Valley Drive
- Lakeview Drive
- Echo Valley Drive
- Old Route 66
Paving will begin Wednesday and should be complete by the end of the month.
A second phase of paving will take place at Hempfield Park. That portion is expected to last three days.
Additional paving will take place in Fort Allen, Walton Tea Room and Hunter Road areas. A schedule for that phase is not set.
