Parking in Greensburg goes back to business as usual Monday.

Greensburg will resume parking enforcement next week as businesses start to reopen.

In mid-March the city eased up on parking tickets, allowing drivers to stay at metered spaces for up to an hour without paying.

Those who lingered longer would still get tickets, which drew complaints from some who work in the city and believed parking enforcement should have been abolished during the pandemic.

Parking goes back to business as usual Monday, the city announced on Facebook. Many businesses will be allowed to open Friday as Westmoreland County enters the yellow phase of the state’s multi-stage reopening plan.

As a result, city leaders expect downtown traffic to pick up, and demand for parking to increase.
