Diners will be able to select from some new and expanded choices in the semiannual Greensburg Restaurant Week, running through Sunday.

There are 17 restaurants taking part this week, up from 14 that were on board for the last two events, this past January and a year ago.

First-time participants include two recent additions to the downtown Greensburg culinary scene.

Barbecue short ribs and lump crab beer mac are among four courses and four beer pairings offered during Restaurant Week at the Stonebridge Brewing Company tap room. The area craft brewer opened its Greensburg location early in the summer of 2023 on East Pittsburgh Street.

On West Otterman Street, diners can choose from marinated and pan-seared salmon or chicken — with chocolate lime sauce and Mexican rice — as their main course at the 3 Stone Merchant gastropub. Respective opening and closing features of the four-course meal there are a flavorful street corn polenta cake and garnished sweet corn ice cream.

The gastropub opened this year in the building that formerly housed the Rialto Bar and Bistro. It”s operated by the owners of J. Corks, another downtown Greensburg eatery that also is part of Restaurant Week.

“There are so many restaurants in the Greensburg area, and this gives them the option to showcase what they have to offer, ” said Anna McClain, events manager for Greensburg Community Development Corp., which organizes Restaurant Week. “Some are focusing on three- or four-course options and others are offering a featured dish.

“It’s cool to see these restaurants offering something they don’t have on their regular menu.”

Going a little farther afield, the event is welcoming the Sports & Social Steel City sports bar at Live Casino Pittsburgh in Hempfield and another first-time participant — Donny’s at Core (formerly Woody’s Restaurant), located at the former Antonelli Event Center in Irwin, now known as the Core Event Center.

The sports bar is offering a choice of New Orleans barbecue shrimp, a jalapeno popper burger or orange glazed chicken. Blackened seasoned catfish, cinnamon fireball brisket, chicken Milanese and pork tenderloin are the featured entrees at Donny’s.

Greensburg’s El Diablo Brewing Co. & Wood Fire Kitchen is among popular returning participants, with a range of menu selections including a herb chicken ratatouille bowl, a Denver cut steak and grilled swordfish.

“All the menus show the eclectic food scene available in Greensburg,” McClain said.

Other participating eateries include: Chef Dato’s Table and Jaffre’s Stone Bar & Kitchen in Derry Township; South Greensburg Restaurant and Morelands at Waterworks, both in South Greensburg; Tapped Brick Oven & Pour House and IronRock Tap House, both in Hempfield; and The Headkeeper, Pizza Siena, Jaffre’s Restaurant, Major Stokes and Little E’s Pizzeria, all in Greensburg.

Diners can pick up a passport to enter a prize drawing at any of the restaurants. Those who order a featured item from at least three of the sites, have their passport initialed and submit an emailed photo of the passport before midnight Sunday, will have a chance to win a $10 gift certificate to each of the restaurants.

Hours and pricing vary among the participating restaurants. Visit greensburgrestaurantweek.com for complete featured menus and more information.
