Greensburg Fire Department Company #1 is planning its first Spring Vendor Show.

After successfully hosting their first car cruise last year, members of the Greensburg Hose Company No. 1 have their sights set on a new event.

The Spring Vendor Show is planned for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 21 at the McLaughlin Drive station. The event will feature 36 vendors selling a range of products like crafts and jewelry. There will be a basket raffle during the four hour event and food will be served by Angelo’s Cucina & Catering of Hempfield’s Grapeville neighborhood.

“We put it out there on Facebook to see if there was an interest and there was a whole bunch of people that said, ‘Yes, they want to participate,’” said Capt. Brian Turpin.

The station hopes to raise a few thousand dollars, he said.

He noted that the goal of hosting new events is to raise additional money that may be used for a remodeling project in the station’s hall or to buy an emergency generator.

In addition to the vendor show, the station in August 2021 hosted its first car and bike cruise as an additional way to raise money. During the event, attendees were able to view more than 100 vehicles, purchase items from food trucks, vie for almost 50 reverse raffle items and buy tools from the Mac Tool Truck.

The second car and bike cruise is scheduled for Aug. 14, Turpin said.

Questions regarding to Spring Vendor Show can be directed to Christian Koury at 412-607-5314 or through a direct message on the Greensburg Hose Company No. 1’s Facebook page.

Fire officials are accepting vendor applications. Those interested can fill out a form and return it to the station, 6 McLaughlin Drive, Greensburg, or email it to Koury57@gmail.com. It costs $30 per booth. A discount is available if a vendor donates a basket to the raffle. If a basket is donated, it costs $25 per booth.

Submitted applications will be reviewed, and vendors will be notified of their status by April 28.
