Greater Latrobe invites community to take part in superintendent search discussion
The Greater Latrobe School District invites the community to attend a focus group discussion Monday as part of its superintendent search.
The meeting is set for 6-8:30 p.m. in the Senior High School Center for Student Creativity. It will be led by Tom Templeton of Templeton Advantage, a Perry County-based consultant the school board hired in April to conduct the search. The firm will be paid $13,500 plus travel expenses for its services, which includes transition assistance.
According to a notice posted on the district website, the focus group discussion will:
• Explore the strengths and challenges of the district;
• Review key issues for the district to address over the coming years;
• Determine the “critical skills” that the next superintendent will need.
The school board must find someone to succeed Judith Swigart, who is set to retire July 31 after more than a decade with Greater Latrobe.
The district encourages attendees to express their views “with candor and honesty” and notes it will take the public’s “comments and reflections under serious advisement as we move through the search process.”
No registration is necessary.
