Fort Ligonier reopens to the public on June 12.

Fort Ligonier will resume welcoming visitors today.

For the time being, the historic site will be open 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Friday through Sundays, with plans to expand hours of operation at a later date.

Future programming includes:

• Sunset tour, 7-9 p.m. June 26 — Guests 21 and older will enjoy a guided tour of the fort museum, outdoor wine and cheese reception and a lantern-lit walk through the fort as the sun sets.

Outside portion of the tour could change due to inclement weather. Space is limited. Advance reservations are required, fee is $35.

• Fort Kids Camp, 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. July 13-17 — Campers learn about 18th-century frontier life while exploring the fort, playing games and creating crafts.

Early registration is recommended due to limited space. Fee is $135, and there is a $20 sibling discount. Scholarships may be available.

In addition to the restored 1758 British fort, the historical complex at Route 711 and Market Street in Ligonier includes galleries devoted to history, art and George Washington; other displays, and a museum store.
