Yukon woman charged with making false reports, misusing 911

A Yukon woman who allegedly telephoned state police 20 times Friday to report unsubstantiated allegations of child abuse against a South Huntingdon man and then attempted to break into the man’s home was arrested on criminal charges, according to court dockets.

Laura L. Fronczak, 37, was charged with criminal attempt, criminal trespass, harassment, misuse of the 911 system, possessing instruments of crime, public drunkenness and making false reports. She was arraigned before District Judge Joseph DeMarchis and ordered held in the Westmoreland County jail on $15,000 bail.

Fronczak allegedly telephoned state police dispatchers in Belle Vernon 20 times between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. Friday to report an ex-boyfriend was abusing his children. Troopers checked on the children and “found them fine and unharmed,” according to Trooper Kenneth Windows.

Authorities said station records show Fronczak had telephoned dispatchers 21 times in the preceding month to make similar unfounded allegations.

Windows said state police received a report from the man that Fronczak tried to enter his home using a screwdriver about 3 p.m. Friday.

Fronczak’s preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for April 1 before East Huntingdon District Judge Charles Moore.
