KISS performs at PPG Paints Arena on Saturday, March 30, 2019 in Pittsburgh.

A Mt. Pleasant Township man who wanted to attend the KISS Farewell Tour concert Saturday at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh said goodbye to $375 in an online ticket scam, according to state police.

The victim, who was not identified, bought three tickets for $125 each through someone who posted a notice on Craigslist, Trooper Steven Papuga said. The seller requested that the payment be made through the third-party app Zelle rather than the authorized Ticketmaster site, Papuga said.

The victim paid through Zelle and received the tickets in his Ticketmaster account, but Papuga reported a short time later the tickets were removed from his account “because the seller of the tickets used a stolen credit card to buy the tickets.”

Ticketmaster will not reimburse the man because he did not buy the tickets through its site, Papuga said.
