Cops: Man stopped for suspended license in Greensburg carrying nearly 2 bricks of heroin
A Jeannette man pulled over in Greensburg Saturday after an officer suspected him of driving with a suspended license was found with nearly two bricks of heroin, police said.
Moziah S. Harris, 28, was stopped driving his 2015 Honda about 2:25 a.m. along the 100 block College Avenue by Patrolman Hank Fontana Jr.
Fontana reported in court documents that he recognized Harris from prior arrests and suspected he was driving on a suspended license. Fontana said that Harris got out of his vehicle after the stop “and dropped one stamp of suspected heroin marked ‘Jet Fuel’ out of his left hand and onto the pavement.”
A search around the vehicle resulted in the discovery of 92 more stamp bags on the ground where Harris was taken into custody, Fontana said. A brick of heroin is 50 stamp bags.
Police confiscated more than $1,500, a cell phone and suspected drug paraphernalia.
Harris was ordered held in the county prison by District Judge Michael Mahady afterfailing to post $25,000 bond on charges of possession of heroin, possession and delivery of a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility, tampering with physical evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a suspended license. A preliminary hearing is May 14 before District Judge Chris Flanigan.
