An argument over a woman resulted in the arrest of Youngwood man for allegedly stabbing another man outside an apartment early Sunday, state police said.

David W. Rundle, 33, was arrested outside his Sunny Terrace Lane home about 1 a.m. on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment.

Trooper Sean Kelley reported in court documents that Rundle stabbed a man who showed up outside his apartment. The man’s ex-girlfriend was inside, police said.

Witnesses reported that Rundle and the Greene County man began arguing in the parking lot but it later turned physical, according to court documents. The woman attempted to intervene. Rundle went inside the apartment, returned with a folding knife and stabbed the victim in his left shoulder, police said.

Kelley reported the knife caused “a small laceration.”

Rundle and the woman told investigators that Rundle only stabbed the man after he swung his motorcycle helmet at the pair.

Rundle was arraigned before acting District Judge Joseph DeMarchis and ordered held in the county jail on $50,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled Jan. 7 before Hempfield District Judge Anthony Bompiani.
