Concealed-carry law seminar set this month in Irwin
North Huntingdon Police Chief Robert Rizzo and Kim Stolfer, president of Firearm Owners Against Crime, are slated to be presenters at a Nov. 16 seminar in Irwin on Pennsylvania’s concealed-carry laws.
The free seminar will run from noon to 2 p.m. at VFW Post 781, 100 Billott Ave. and is sponsored by state Rep. George Dunbar, R-Penn Township.
“An important part of being a responsible gun owner is knowing our state’s firearm laws, including how and when to carry a concealed firearm,” Dunbar said.
”Whether you are considering applying for a permit or already have one, I encourage all District 56 firearm owners to come out and hear from the experts regarding both their rights and responsibilities,” he said in a news release.
Rizzo and Stolfer are expected to present facts on the law and answer questions about the state’s concealed carry process, the Castle Doctrine and other information regarding firearms safety and state gun laws.
Due to limited seating, interested individuals are advised to pre-register by calling Dunbar’s district office at 724-744-0305.
In addition to Penn Township, the 56th legislative district includes Irwin, Manor, North Huntingdon, North Irwin and Trafford and portions of Hempfield.
