Jacobs Creek Watershed Association will host a Lazy River Family Friendly Float Day on June 27 at Garfield Park in Scottdale. Here, kayakers Mary Shaw and Roy Weil take park in the 2018 float day.

Jacobs Creek Watershed Association will host its annual Lazy River Family Friendly Float Day on Saturday at Garfield Park in Scottdale.

Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. Float hours are 12:30-4 p.m.

Participants are invited to bring their own rafts, canoes, kayaks, tubes or anything else that floats, or rent a tube from JCWA, for a day of fun on the creek. An air compressor will be available to inflate rafts.

From Garfield Park, floaters will be bused to the JCWA canoe ramp entrance to ride down the Jacobs Creek water trail back to the park, taking as many trips as they like.

The 1-mile ride is suitable for all ages.

A food truck, live radio broadcast, watershed activities and event merchandise tables will be available in the park.

Participants are asked to wear masks and maintain social distance from other groups during the event. JCWA will provide widely spaced tables and hand sanitizer stations and will be disinfecting equipment and bus seats throughout the day.

The $10 ride-all-day pass includes transport for participant’s watercraft to ride the trail as many times as desired. All-day pass is free to children 10 and younger. Tube rental fee is $15.
