This week might be the best one of the holiday season. We’ve digested the Thanksgiving turkey and gotten the madness of Black Friday behind us. And all around us the parties are starting, the house tours are opening and the music is swelling.
Nativities from round the globe
The First United Methodist Church, 15 E. Second St., Greensburg, is holding its 13th annual creche show.
There is no charge to view the Nativity scenes from many parts of the world, created in various media.
Children’s activities and refreshments will be be available to those coming to see the displays.
Hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Dec. 6 and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 7.

A cappella Christmas
Laurel Harmony Chorus Sweet Adelines will present “Holiday Harmony,” its annual Christmas show.
The concert will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 7 in the Trinity United Church of Christ, 139 N. Main St., Greensburg.
The afternoon will feature guest quartets, raffle baskets, door prizes and light refreshments, according to member Sandy Mizikar. The concert will be a mix of traditional carols and more contemporary holiday songs.
“We are singing ‘You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch,’ ‘Silent Night,’ ‘The Christmas Waltz,’ and ‘That’s Christmas to Me,’ that Pentatonix made famous,” Mizikar says. “And we do a sing-along with the audience.”
Raffle baskets will feature goodies including chocolates, wine and lottery tickets, she adds.
Tickets are $5 and will be sold at the door. Children age 5 and are under are admitted free.
